We are pumped to introduce you to Tina Jackson, this week’s #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY. Tina has such an infectious light and she is a beautiful woman inside and out. You can’t help but smile when you’re around this lady, and she is never afraid to show kindness to other people. We love that Tina throws herself into all different kinds of things in life, whether it's dancing beside superstars onstage or teaching a packed SoulCycle class. She is talented, hardworking, generous, and optimistic, and she’s the perfect example of a badass female spreading good vibes to the rest of the world.

Tina has graced the stage with some of the top artists in the industry such as P!NK, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and Madonna. In addition, she's worked with renowned choreographers Dana Foglia, Michael Rooney, Galen Hooks, and Ryan Heffington. Not only does she shine as a performer, but she also spreads her light as a SoulCycle teacher. Tina's class is always full of sweat, energy, and good vibes and her students leave feeling so fulfilled because she genuinely loves teaching others. She is passionate about guiding her students through a powerful and inspiring physical practice, and she knows how to motivate her students while having fun.

We admire Tina for her beautiful soul and how she lights up every room she's in. She’s the kind of girl who supports others wholeheartedly and she's the perfect role model for our YGTGirls. Thank you Tina for taking the time to answer our questions!

We absolutely love that you’re a teacher at SoulCycle! Tell us what it means to you to teach others and how being a teacher has helped you.

What is wild about my job is that I never expected to love teaching so much! It brings me the most joy to see my riders transform not just their bodies, but their minds. Teaching at Soulcycle for me opened a new and healthy way of thinking. Being a professional dancer in the commercial industry gets super tough with the with the constant rejection and teaching at soul has allowed my mind to develop a sense of strength that I never knew I had. The physicality of course is something I live for because I like pushing my body beyond what I think i can do and when I see that same mindset click with my riders, it’s pretty rad. Teaching has matured me, calmed me, and has raised my gratitude for life beyond.

Which female has inspired you most in your life and why?

I would have to say that my journey is fully inspired by the leading ladies in my life which are my mother and grandmothers (Yes, both of my grandmothers are still alive as well as my great grandmother, who happens to be my favorite lady and is 98!!). My mother from the very start taught me how to be a humble warrior and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. She gave me the tools to seek balance, find kindness in others and seek preparation in the in between  seasons. Along side that, my paternal grandmother has been a beam of sophistication, compassion and strength in my life. Many life lessons I have learned from her. She has showed me how to carry myself in tough situations, how to love fearlessly and how to maintain a spiritual life. To the extraordinary women in my life; Deytre, Vashti, Pauline, and Eleanor... Thank you for raising me, loving me, and every sacrifice you endured along the way.

What is your biggest strength?

HOPE. I've been very blessed to have been surrounded by a beautiful support of people growing up and I've always rooted myself in optimism. The moment you truly believe that anything is possible, you've accessed your greatest self.

With your busy schedule, how do you find balance? What are some ways you relax and unwind?

Woo… calmly inhaling and gently exhaling. BALANCE in life is essential to our well-being. This year more than ever, I have found myself taking pockets of time to just be still and recognizing how abundant life is. With my life being super intense mentally and physically, I have to pay even more attention to restoring my self week to week to continue the growth I would like to see in my self. I have a one day that I designate absolutely  nothing to but being at home and resting, yoga about 2-3 times, getting my body reset either thru PT or massage therapy, and my favorite, watching movies!!

What's your definition of a YGTGirl?

A woman who is constantly seeking her purpose, chasing adventure, loves hard, uses her voice to stand for what is right, and of course a girl who always adds her own little flair to things!
