DALINA REBOLLO

Today we present to you the fabulous DALINA REBOLLO as our #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY! This woman has been doing YGTG director Mel Mah’s hair since 2012, but she’s been more than a hairstylist to Mel. She’s been a friend, mentor, support system, and loving spirit every time Mel sits in her chair, and she has a huge heart that's completely open and giving to all of her clients. She’s been a hairstylist for 12 years now, and she is an absolute genius in her craft. Dalina brings a special artistry to her work, and she cares deeply about providing a service while helping people look and feel their best. It’s no wonder she was Ariana Grande’s personal hairstylist for three years and toured the world with her! She’s also done hair for the Pussycat Dolls and Fifth Harmony, and she’s currently a stylist at the renowned Hairroin Salon in Hollywood.

Dalina is a woman of strength, power, and passion. She’s always been incredibly hardworking and she’s the type of person who isn’t afraid of a challenge. She never half-asses anything and she’s always determined to help others along the way. Dalina credits a lot of her present strength to the difficulties she’s faced in her life, and she has overcome a lot of personal obstacles such as obesity and being bullied her whole life. The last 5 years is where she’s really spent time tackling these issues and bringing love and light to those places of stuggle.

Being bullied and belittled throughout her life helped her find true self-worth and those moments pushed her to solidify a place in the industry as a valued hairstylist. Because of her experiences, she cares about helping others and she’s determined to inspire people to use the challenging times in their lives as motivation to grow. We absolutely applaud Dalina for not only her invaluable skills in the hair industry, but for also being so brave and open about her personal experiences. She’s not afraid of where she’s been and what she’s been through, which is why she’s such a badass lady on a mission to create positive change. Thank you Dalina for being your bold and brave self, and for sharing your heart with the world!

You are an absolute magician with hair! Tell us about your passion and why you love this craft so much.

My Passion is HAIR!!!!

I fell in love with my career as soon as I realized how happy I can make people. My job is based on using my hands and creativity to make people feel and look beautiful. It comes with so much responsibility because I help my clients achieve how they want to be seen.

Also, I get to meet the most amazing people. Every single one of my clients has an amazing story and I hold them so close to my heart.

Doing hair also helps me be creative and I am able to influence others in my industry!

What’s your favorite thing about being a woman?

My favorite thing about being a woman is being capable of being in super high positions in any industry, meaning being a BOSS and still holding a nurturing, soft and even sexy side.

In your opinion, what do you think are the top three ingredients for success?

I think my top three ingredients for success are persistence, delegating and being a great communicator. I was talking about this with my physical trainer, Kim Ford, and she shared how many people just see the end result without focusing how much work it takes to get to the top. Many times for us women, success does not come easy. We have to be persistent. We can’t give up. We have to push through. It always pays off at the end. Delegating is major in success too. A successful leader needs a team. I saw a meme by @crimebydesign the other day saying “If you ever see somebody standing next to me, know that they are better than me at something.” That really stuck to me because every successful woman I personally know has a strong team to fall back on. Giving credit and trusting your team is so important to go far in anything. Being a great communicator is major, too. Being able to express and creating a connection with everyone is key in success. Without communication, it is not personal and real.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

My biggest inspiration is My Heffa (spanish for boss lady), Janine Jarman. She LITERALLY can make anything out of nothing, especially when so much is happening at once!! She opened her first salon in Hollywood at age 24. She now owns two salons in Hollywood and New York. She is a full-time mom to two babies and is married. She is beautiful inside and out. She is always looking for ways to make her brand better and always making her team stronger. She makes sure we all are at the top of our game. She is relentless at everything she faces. She is a true boss and does it so effortlessly. She is an amazing cook, and amazing at crafts. Basically, whatever she touches turns to gold. And she is so humble and giving while being tough and strong.

What’s your definition of a YGTGirl?

My definition of a YGTG is a girl who’s real. I feel like a lot of people focus on the black and white of things when in reality there are a ton of grey areas. It is ok the have fear and anxiety when life gets real, but it takes a strong inner spirit to remind yourself that you got this and you can get through anything. When I am standing in front of a challenge, I fight doubts and remember that I’ve got this! I am where I am supposed to be for a reason, and I will fight with everything in me. You got this too, girl!
