This week YGTG is featuring two badass ladies for #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY, and they are our dear friends Jenny and Jayme Rae Dailey... the DAILEY TWINS. These two women are beautiful inside and out and are such loving, supportive, and loyal human beings. They work their butts off and they bring strength and passion to everything they do. The twins have taken the LA entertainment industry by a storm and have racked up a huge list of accomplishments both individually and as a team. We love how strong their sisterly bond is and how they use each other as support systems through thick and thin.
Jenny and Jayme Rae are Canadian girls born and raised in Montreal, and they made the big move to LA in 2011 to pursue their professional dance careers. Since then, their work ethic and talent have gotten them very far, as they've worked with some of the top artists such as Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, Pia Mia, and Jennifer Hudson. The twins also appeared on TV shows like The Voice and X-Factor, and appeared in the film Step Up 5. There's no doubting how much these ladies shine both on and off stage, and they radiate light wherever they go!
In addition to their successful careers in entertainment, the twins have recently joined forces and created their own blog on wellness and happiness called THE DAILEY TWINS (www.thedaileytwins.com). They share their travels and journeys as professional dancers, and they strive to inspire others to live healthy, happy, and successful lives through this outlet. These two ladies are shining examples of the undeniable power women have when bonded together. They're positive forces to be reckoned with individually, but they also tap into a unique presence when they work together. The connection that Jayme Rae and Jenny have demonstrates the visible strength in community, teamwork, and supporting one another, and that's what it's truly all about. Thank you girls for being such beautiful spirits in our lives and in so many other people's, too! You women are GEMS.
We love that you two get to work so much as a duo! What’s your favorite thing about being a twin?
We love working together, too. There’s nothing like sharing your ultimate passion with your other half. We think the best part about being a twin is that we have each other through anything. We get to share our life experiences and be there for one another through all of our ups and downs. We moved from Canada to pursue our careers and that was such a big step for us individually; knowing that we were going through it together allowed us to never feel afraid and alone. We feel so lucky to have each other, especially when traveling and touring. We can stand alone but we feel so empowered when we stand together.
Who are your biggest female inspirations?
Our biggest inspirations would have to be women that strive to make a difference in people’s lives. Oprah and Ellen Degeneres are two women wh use their platform to inspire change in people and do so much good in the world. I, Jenny, found my balance and a newfound understanding for meditation through Oprah’s 21-day meditation challenge. I connect to her words and advice and can see how this has helped me grow in little ways that make a big difference. And Ellen, for her ability to touch people’s lives through her humor and undying compassion for others.
What words do you both live by whether it’s a phrase or motto or mantra that helps you get through a tough day?
GO WITH THE FLOW. Letting the universe guide us instead of trying to control it so much works for us (trust, we know this from experience). We are naturally hard workers and love to put our hearts in everything that we do. Letting go allows opportunities to freely come to us at the right time.
You’re both always so busy with work and travel the world on a consistent basis. How do you ladies unwind, relax, and stay balanced with such hectic schedules?
We appreciate little things like going for coffee, practicing yoga, pilates, walking around the mall, and relaxing at home over a glass of wine. Finding a sense of balance in your life is key.
What's your definition of a YGTGirl?
A girl who sees the glass half full and who is resilient in her pursuit of happiness. Being able to tell yourself “you got this” is such a powerful tool. It shows a strong-willed woman who can set her mind to anything and accomplish it.
