We are so pumped to share this week’s #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY with you, the incredible Tatiana Parker. This powerful woman is a Canadian dancer, teacher and choreographer currently residing in Los Angeles, and her drive, passion, and artistry is absolutely unparalleled. Tatiana has an outgoing and fiery personality, and we admire how much her style and hunger to evolve separates her from the rest. Her pledge to authenticity and originality is a continuous reminder of the importance in staying true to the person you are, and she's an inspiration to all females to be EXACTLY who they are.

Tatiana is a Toronto native and has trained, performed and taught all around the world. She competed on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Canada (Season 2), and has performed with Nicki Minaj, Sean Kingston, Janelle Monae, Carly Rae Jepson, Victoria Duffield, Hilary Duff and Ke$ha, to name a few! Tatiana has travelled across North America, Europe, and Asia sharing her wealth of knowledge with aspiring dancers at studios and conventions including Jump, 24Seven, Ignite, The Dance Teacher’s Summit, DancerPalooza, KaMotion, and more. She has also made her mark overseas choreographing on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Vietnam, and most recently choreographing and performing for EXILE THE SECOND in Japan.

Tatiana is a woman of integrity and commitment, and she radiates her bright energy everywhere she goes. This girl doesn’t let anything get in her way! She is a true go-getter and her dedication to her craft is something we admire about this hardworking beauty. Dance and music are the driving forces behind this eye-catching performer, and it's always such a pleasure to watch a strong, feminine, and powerful artist tap into so many different levels of emotion in her craft. One of the most beautiful things about Tatiana is how open she is to giving love to other people whether it's a close friend in her life or a stranger on the street. She is a true empath with the biggest heart, and she isn't afraid to express her feelings with others. She also has this undying willingness to accept and work with any challenges life throws her, which is why she's such a positive force of nature both on and off stage. Thank you Tatiana for reminding us to enjoy the journey, for showing the world so much love, for stopping at nothing to achieve your goals, and for inspiring us to embrace every aspect of who we are!

You have such a beautiful and fiery presence both on and off stage. How would you define strength and what does that word mean to you?

Thank you! To me, strength begins with bravery. To be fearless is ideal but in reality, most of us will experience fear - strength is having the courage to break through that wall. No matter the circumstances, I try to ignite the fire within which allows me to access my strength.

It is so incredible how deeply you feel music and dance. Talk to us about your passions and why you believe being a passionate woman is important.

Honestly, I don’t have much control over the way music and dance make me feel. When a song strikes my emotions or if its vibe just hits my soul, I’m no longer in control. When it comes to dance I try to simply allow the music to guide my movement rather than reiterating steps. I feel it’s important to be passionate with all that you do so that you remain genuine and are able to express, share and hopefully inspire others from an honest and heartfelt place.

When was the last time you were really challenged mentally and spiritually? What did you do to overcome it?

I’m currently feeling challenged mentally, emotionally, and spiritually with a complicated ongoing relationship. I haven’t yet been able to overcome it however I am presently working on allowing myself to simply feel & accept my discomfort. Typically, I would be eager to escape the agitation by actively trying to “fix” whatever the situation may be. Instead, now I am practicing patience with my uneasiness hoping that this way I am allotting the time and air necessary for my emotions to settle and my mind to steady so that I am able to re-assess from a more grounded state.

How do you think women can support each other more?

It’s challenging, but if we are able to stop the toxic habit of comparing ourselves to others (which causes jealousy and hate), it will be easy to support one another. Practicing self-confidence, understanding and empathy will create room for endless love and support for the entire universe.

What's one word you'd use to describe yourself?

EMOTIONAL. I used to consider this to be one of my weakest attributes but I’m beginning to really love this about myself. I am emotional, 100%. I feel deeply, care immensely, love intensely and can’t hide any of it to save my life. That’s just me, Tati P! ;)

What's your definition of a YGTGirl?

A YGTGirl is someone who knows her greatness. Someone who is fearless in attaining her dreams. Someone who is proud to be a woman, aware of her infinite potential, understands that effort is key and is determined to unlock her magic.
