Are you ready for this week’s #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY? We are delighted to share the amazing Bianca Brewton with you. This exquisite woman is originally from Miami, Florida and is one of the dance industry’s most sought after performers. What we admire most about Bianca is her gentle yet strong-spirited nature. This powerhouse woman cares deeply for others and has never let any of life’s struggles shake her kind heart. One of the hardest moments in Bianca’s life was when she lost her baby sister Simone a couple years ago. This experience tested Bianca’s faith, however it allowed her to find the depth and magnitude of her own strength. Thank you Bianca for inspiring and for reminding us to find the silver lining even when tough moments are presented in our lives.

Bianca sets the bar high and has made herself known as one of the most versatile and captivating performers in the industry. We seriously can’t take our eyes of this girl! Her undeniable stage presence and unbeatable talent has blessed her with the opportunities to work alongside some of the most esteemed and respected artists in the world. Her dance credits include Janet Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Usher, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. When Bianca isn’t stealing the show, you can find her teaching her fun-filled, high energy “Florida Fit” class at The Basement in LA with her best friend Antwon Keith.

Bianca is the ultimate example of persistence and determination for girls everywhere. She has used the obstacles in her life to emerge and blossom into the resilient and loving person that she is. Her best piece of advice is to be unwavering in the journey of life-long learning. She attributes her success to the continuous dedication she gives to her personal and professional growth and development. Bianca believes that we as women have a responsibility to speak up and defend our rights, now more than ever. She encourages us girls to empower one another to find our voices and share them with the world. This compassionate woman’s strong sense of self and courageous heart inspires us to speak our truth and acknowledge the brave and beautiful women that we are. You rock Bianca!

You’ve had such an incredible career in the dance industry and you are well-respected for your strength, power, and technique as a performer. What do you think is the biggest and most important lesson you’ve learned in the industry?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned in the industry is to save your money, and invest in YOURSELF. With the industry being so fickle sometimes, it’s hard to tell when your next job will be. That’s why if you invest in yourself and your own brand while being consistent, you can create a means of income for yourself. It just takes patience.

Why do you think it’s important for women to use their voices in today’s society?

It’s important for US to use OUR voices now more than ever, because we actually have a platform. If you think about it, years ago women never really had a chance to speak their truth without society interrupting them. Now, we have a president who clearly doesn't have any respect for women, and someone who takes unjust action towards them. As a leader, you're supposed to lead by example. With that said, all the events that are happening now are giving US a platform to speak our truth… now that society’s finally listening.

Tell us about a time when you felt powerless and weak. We all have those moments, and we all have to push through somehow. What do you do in those moments?

The first time I ever felt powerless and weak was when I lost my baby sister Simone. Sometimes when I reminisce about her I’ll have my times where I’m extremely melancholy. Usually, prayer helps me through those tough moments. It’s crazy that even though I was upset with God, I still knew I had to revert back to prayer to push through.

What is something not a lot of people know about you that you wouldn’t mind sharing? Anything goes!

Not a lot of people know that I'm actually really into film score. See, as a kid I would watch BACK TO THE FUTURE just to hear how the music would sync with their words and actions. To be honest, I think that film score is absolutely genius. And that movie is a CLASSIC!!

What’s your definition of a YGTGirl?

My definition of a YGTGirl is someone that has integrity. Integrity can help you go far in life.
