We are so excited to introduce the fabulous CAMREN BICONDOVA as this week’s #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY! Camren is an actress, model, and dancer from San Diego, California and she has taken the entertainment industry by a storm. She has a powerful presence with a radiant spirit, and you can’t take your eyes off her when she’s performing. She started dancing at the age of 6, and trained in many different styles of dance. Camren then assisted some of the country’s top choreographers on the PULSE Dance Convention… at only 11 years old! Following that tour, her all-girl dance group “8 Flavahz” finished second on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and became the youngest group to ever compete on the show.
After ABDC, she decided to actively pursue a career as an actress, and she soon landed the role of “Selina Kyle”, the younger catwoman, on FOX’s Gotham. She gained a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series for this role, as well. Currently, she is shooting the fourth season for Gotham in New York. What a star!
Camren is a beautiful female inside and out, and her success in the industry is supported by her kind and compassionate energy. Despite her busy schedule, she makes time to give back to chartiies such as Global Citizen and North Shore Animal League. This girl exudes a calm sense of power, and it’s admirable to see a young and confident woman use her platform to help others and give back. She's undoubtedly an inspiration because she's fearlessly gone after everything she wants, and isn’t afraid to dive head first into challenges. We applaud you Camren for being such a classy and hardworking role model for girls everywhere. Thank you for taking the time to share a bit of your story! Much love.
Congratulations on all your accomplishments girl! It is truly phenomenal to see you rise and find success in so many different avenues. What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your journey so far?
Thank you! Time. And the importance of it. It’s important to understand how MUCH time we have because there’s so much talk of how LITTLE time we have. We have a lot of it. It’s important to use it, and not be afraid of using it.
Why do you think it’s important for women to stand together in this day and age? What do you think females can do to support each other more?
It’s important for us to stand together because there are so many things (and people) trying to pull us apart. But, we ALL need to stand together, men and women. And in order to do that, we need to be confident in who we are as individuals. If you don’t work on your own problems, how do you expect to help someone else with theirs? Let alone the state of society.
What would you consider to be your greatest strength and why?
I guess my weaknesses. They make me stronger. I find great strength in vulnerability.
If you could travel back in time and chat with your 10-year-old self, what advice would you give her?
Stay exactly how you are. Don’t let anyone make you feel like your opinion doesn’t matter. It does. And don’t EVER believe the people who make you feel like your feelings aren’t valid. They are.
What's your definition of a YGTGirl?
I guess one who knows her worth, or isn’t afraid of accepting the fact that she doesn’t (know her worth). A girl who is open to learning, a girl who is open to growing, and in turn, is open to change. The girl who isn’t afraid to say to herself, “YOU GOT THIS, GIRL!”
