Our #FEMMEFEATUREFRIDAY this week is the ever so sweet Simone Miller! We are so excited for you to get to know this incredibly talented young lady! Simone is a 13-year-old actress and singer residing in Toronto, Canada. Demonstrating a passion for the arts since she was a little girl, Simone took every opportunity to perform wherever she could and to whoever would listen! While her love for the arts remains her number one, we admire that Simone makes time to enjoy some of her other favourite pastimes including kickboxing, volleyball, playing the guitar and the ukulele, reading and cooking… to name a few!
Simone’s career began with her first appearance on shows such as The Big Fun Crafty Show (Universal Kids) and Snapshots (CBC). Quickly rising to the top, Simone then starred in commercials for major campaigns including Loblaws, The Shopping Channel, Plan Canada and The Wall Street Journal. Not to mention, Simone was recently cast as the lead Raign Westbrook in the new CBC Kids Digital Original mystery and adventure series called Detention Adventure. Make sure to download CBC Gem for FREE to catch Simone doing what she does best!
It is so inspiring to see how determined, motivated and hard working Simone is. She has a deep understanding of what is important to her and how she wants to live her life. This humble girl knows that the path ahead may be full of challenges and difficult situations at times. However, she remains positive knowing that everything always works itself out in the end. We just light up knowing that Simone is an empowered girl who is chasing her dreams and focusing on all the amazing opportunities that come her way. Thank you Simone for showing us that being a girl is the most powerful thing in the world!

What do you love most about being an artist? What makes pursuing your dreams so rewarding?
I love being able to develop new perspectives on the world and on people each time I step into a new character. I learn a lot when reading scripts and a lot of research goes into preparing for a role. The rewarding part is when you get to watch the finished product and reminisce on everything that went into making the project!
Who is your biggest female inspiration and why? How do you hope to inspire girls?
Definitely my mother, she is so strong yet sweet. She inspires me every day to be my best. She believes that there is a plan and purpose for everything. When I audition and don’t land roles, she always says it just wasn’t meant to be and it really helps me to just move on. I hope I can someday inspire girls the way my mother inspires me.
What does girl power mean to you? Tell us about a time you felt empowered because you are a girl.
To me girl power means us girls can do anything boys can do! Feeling empowered because you are a girl, rather than focusing on the challenges girls face on a day-to-day basis. I always try to make sure I don’t limit myself no matter what I’m doing, if that means being the only girl at school playing football, then so be it!
You are so young and have already accomplished so much! Tell us about your future goals and aspirations. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
It has always been a goal of mine to record my own album and perform onstage, so I definitely see myself doing something along those lines in the future!
What’s your definition of a YGTGirl?
Despite everything that may have happened you’re going to be amazing!
